The 2009 911/997.2 marks the end of the truly analog 911. The 3.8-liter 385hp DFI Flat 6 Engine offers exciting performance, the 6 Speed Manual Gearbox shifts seamlessly and the car handles like a dream. Opportunities to purchase Manual 997.2 C4S Coupes in highly desirable color combinations don’t come along too often and these cars has already attained collector status in my opinion. If you’ve been dreaming about owning something like this for the last 15 years now’s your chance!

  • 1996 Porsche 911 993 Turbo X50

    • 70,463 mi
    • 6-Speed Manual
    Sold - Homepage

This vehicle is currently being auctioned at PCAMARKET, follow the link below to review the auction:

    https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/1996-porsche-993-turbo-x50/

I’m honored to offer on consignment from the owner of 24 years, this highly optioned, German Delivery, 1996 911 993 Turbo Coupe with rare X50 Power Kit and Porsche Exclusive Carbon Fiber Interior Accents.

The 993 Turbo was the last of the air-cooled era and is widely regarded as one of Porsches most desirable 911 variants, although it still has a classic timeless style, performance is still very respectable today. With an air-cooled twin turbo engine producing 408 BHP that puts the power down via a 6-speed gearbox, and an electronic 4wd system in standard form, it offers performance to embarrass a lot of modern cars today. With a top speed of 180mph and a 0-60mph in just 4.5 seconds, it certainly does not hang around! A very desirable and rare upgrade in period from the factory which this car has, was to tick the expensive (14,000 DM) option box “X50” which was only offered in the ROW (rest of the world) markets. This raised the power to 430BHP (the same as the Turbo S) and enhanced performance even further.

    Vehicle History:

WP0ZZZ99ZTS371344 was completed at Porsche’s Stuttgart Zuffenhausen factory on 11/02/1995 and was delivered to the first owner who opted for factory delivery on 11/13/1995 for the sum of 245,000 Deutsche Marks. In the summer of 1999, the car was traded in on a new 2000 996 GT3 at Porsche Zentrum Siegen. Porsche Siegen put the vehicle through the manufacturers Certified Pre-Owned Program and offered it for sale in their showroom in the fall of 1999. At that point the car had approximately 80,000 Kilometers (49,600 miles) recorded.

The current owner visited Porsche Siegen’s showroom during a trip to Germany and was immediately drawn to the Guards Red 993, at the time he was living in Barcelona, Spain. He decided to buy the car late in 1999 and returned to Spain with it. Between 1999 and 2001 he enjoyed the car in Spain and Germany adding approximately 10,000 miles. In late 2001 in preparation for relocating home to Ohio permanently and not wanting to sell the car or leave it behind it was shipped from Barcelona, via Breman and on to Baltimore. It has remained as part of his Porsche collection ever since, having covered just over 20k miles in the last 25 years it now sits at 70,463 miles.

    Importation to the USA:

On arrival at Baltimore in 2002, the vehicle was required to complete DOT & EPA certification to be officially imported into the USA, then titled and registered in Ohio for road use. This was completed by J.K Technologies, Baltimore, MD one of the few companies nationally that was licensed to complete this. The process took 6 months, cost $8k to complete and is fully documented.

Prior to shipping from Spain, in consultation with J.K Technolgies and at their request as part of the certification process; the vehicle was fitted with new Factory Catalytic Converters and Spark Plugs at Porsche Concessionari, Barcelona at a cost of $3k.

Link to J.K Technologies website: https://jktechnologies.net/

    Maintenance History:

To say the vehicle has been well documented and maintained over the years would be an understatement! The current owner has kept an extensive paper record of everything that’s related to the car’s history and maintenance going back to when he purchased it in late 1999. There are invoices and stamps in the maintenance book from Porsche Dealers in Germany and Spain, including the 100k kilometer service completed at Werks One (The Porsche Factory) in 2000. Also, extensive records from a local marquee specialist here in Ohio dating back to 2002.

    Recent Refurbishment/Maintenance:

Due to its desirability and unique history, in preparation for sale it was decided to undertake a complete high quality respray of the car, since some areas of the paint were showing their age and matching color with a single stage finish can be problematic. Also, at the same time to address any and all maintenance and wear issues. The aim was to bring the condition of the car to, as good as it could possibly be for the new owner. Chris Moore the principal of Autobahn Extremist of Brooklyn Heights, OH was selected to complete the process because of his more than 40 years’ experience working on and restoring Air-Cooled Porsches to a very high standard. The original Factory Single Stage Guards Red Glasurit Paint was selected to insure an authentic result. The final bill to complete the work was in excess of $50k and is available on request to serious buyers.

Link to Autobahn Extremist Website: www.autobahnextremist.com

    In Addition:

As previously mentioned, the vehicle has extensive paper records dating back to 1999. These will be passed on to the new owner.

Also as delivered; 2 Keys, Full European Safety Equipment (Safety/Warning Triangle & Unopened First-Aid Kit), Jack, Tool Roll, Compressor, Unused Spare Wheel and a full set of Owners Manuals in Original German & English, Porsche Factory Build Sheet & PCNA (Porsche Cars North America) Certificate of Authenticity.

    My Impressions:

I had the opportunity to drive the car last week for about 30 minutes on a beautiful fall afternoon. It performed flawlessly and provided the ultimate in Porsche Air Cooled Performance just as I remembered from my last drive of a 993 TT many years ago.

The car presents in fabulous condition, needing nothing except its next caretaker. The new paintwork gleams in the sun and the interior is in remarkably fresh condition considering its 28 years old. Opportunities to acquire special Porsche like this don’t come along too often and this car would stand out in any collection.

Iconic 1996 Porsche 911 993 Carrera Coupe with 6-Speed Manual Gearbox! Finished in stunning Polar Silver Metallic, Contrasted by a rare Midnight Blue Supple Leather Interior.  The vehicle is highly optioned, as referenced in the factory build sheet below. It was delivered from Paul Miller Porsche, Parsippany, NJ to its first owner also in New Jersey on 02/28/1996, they kept the car until 2009 when it was purchased by the second owner in Arizona. In 2020 it moved to its third owner in Connecticut, and then to me, having accumulated a total of only 41k miles in the last 27 years. It’s in beautiful condition, the paintwork gleams, the interior is in excellent original condition, and it drives perfectly. When the new owner takes possession, the car will have all accessories as delivered when new, 2 keys/remotes, owner’s manual set and maintenance records.

    Maintenance:

The previous owner had extensive age-related maintenance on the vehicle completed in 2020 by Automobile Associates, Canton CT, a well-known and respected independent Porsche Shop.  At that time the vehicle was fitted with Koni Special Active Struts & M033 ROW (Rest of the World) Springs. This vastly improves the handling characteristics of the car compared to the original Boge/USA specification struts the car was originally delivered with. Since the car has been in my care, I’ve continued addressing any of the car’s maintenance and time related needs. investing a further $7k. Documentation is available on request to prospective buyers.  At this the vehicle needs point it needs nothing.

    Factory Build/Option Sheet:

    Background:

The 993 introduced in mid 1994 for the 1995 model year in North America represents the final chapter of the legendary Air-Cooled 911 that first saw the road in 1963. The 993 contains 30 years of development to the platform adding many modern features. The 3.6 liter flat six air cooled engine rated at 285 HP with Varioram Induction mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox provides spirted performance. The multilink, coil-over rear suspension assists in making the handling of this rear engined sport car much more predictable than earlier incarnations.

I’ve owned and enjoyed several 993’s over the years going back to when they were new. It’s been a few years since I’ve had the pleasure of driving one so when this beauty came into inventory, I didn’t hesitate to take it for an extended test drive. It was like meeting an old friend that I hadn’t seen for a while, everything fell into place when I got behind the wheel and the memories of drives long past came flooding back. What a joy this time capsule 911 is! It provides much of the original 1960’s 911 experience with the added modern conveniences of, power steering/clutch/brakes and air conditioning that actually works. With the sunroof open on a nice country back road, no modern car can replicate this experience! There is a reason that the 993 has now reached collector status.

The 911/997.2 marks the end of the truly analog 911. The 3.8-liter 385hp DFI Flat 6 Engine offers exciting performance, the 7-Speed PDK Gearbox shifts seamlessly and the car handles like a dream. Opportunities to purchase Time Warp Porsche’s like this don’t come along too often and the car has already attained collector status in my opinion. If you’ve been dreaming about owning something like this for the last 15 years now’s your chance!

I’m excited to offer one of the most amazing Porsche 911’s I have ever had in inventory! I sold the car 3 years ago to the second owner who added just 3k miles during his time with the car. I didn’t hesitate to buy it back when he called me! 2011 911/997 Carrera S Coupe with just two owners and 6k miles. Finished in Rare Dark Blue Metallic which really compliments the lines of the car, contrasted by a Sand Beige Partial Leather Interior with Makasser Accents and Adaptive Sport Seats. The vehicle is as close to new as you can get considering its 12 years old. It has comprehensive maintenance history from Porsche North Olmstead, OH and Porsche Salt Lake City, UT and needs nothing. The vehicle will be delivered with 2 keys, a full set of owner’s manuals, maintenance records and Porsche promotional material from 2011.
